IMPHAL, Oct 3 - Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar on Monday blamed the lack of cooperation from Manipur Government for the delay in the construction of the countrys first Sports University in the State.

Javadekar, who was here to chalk out poll strategy of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the 2017 Manipur Assembly elections, said at a press conference at the end of his two-day stay.

Expressing serious concern over the issues relating to the Sports University construction and other Central projects in the State, Javadekar informed that a team of officials from Union Sports Ministry will be visiting the State soon to oversee the situation. He also alleged that the construction of Imphal-Jiribam National Highway could not be completed again due to lack of cooperation.

The Union Minister, who arrived here on Sunday as part of BJPs mission to form the government in the State, had several meetings with State BJP president K Bhabananda, former Union Minister Th Chaoba, Convenor of State Election Committee, BJP Manipur unit and other senior leaders of the party at Hotel Imphal Classic.
