Manipur Governor lays stress on education

IMPHAL, Oct 5 - Manipur Governor Dr Najma Heptulla on Friday appealed to all stakeholders not to disturb education under any circumstances in view of its profound importance in the civilisational development of a nation.

The Governor was addressing the inaugural function of the four-day Model United Nations Conference, MMS PIMUN 2019, which is being organised by Polaris International Model United Nations (PIMUN), in collaboration with the Maria Montessori Senior Secondary School, here on Friday. PIMUN brings youths together to learn and share ideas from a diverse set of experiences and backgrounds.

Stating that the conference held under the theme �Coadunate Contra Conflict� is a platform for simulation and students should participate in debates while taking on leadership roles, Dr Heptulla stated that the young boys and girls of the State are very talented, and that they excel in diverse fields, sports and cultural activities.

The conference will encourage the students in public speaking, she added.

Former diplomat Nengcha Lhouvum, chairman of the School Board of Trustees Ajit Irom, secretary general of PIMUN Veno Rudupra, other board members, teachers and students of Maria Montessori School attended the inaugural ceremony.
