IMPHAL, July 18 - Manipur emerged champions in the Junior Girl National Football Championship held under the aegis of the All India Football Federation, at Cuttack in Odisha.

In the final played yesterday Manipur girls trounced Haryana by 4-1.

N Ratanbala (1st and 61st minute) and Y Hemolata (68th and 94th minute) were the goal scorers for the Manipur team while Nisha netted the lone goal for Haryana in the 16th minute.

Earlier, in their group league matches Manipur outclassed Chhattisgarh 12-0, Maharashtra 8-0. In the quarterfinal stage, Manipur posted a convincing 12-0 victory against Jharkhand, blanked Odisha 3-0 and crushed Goa 10-0 in the last league match.

In the semifinal Manipur handed a 6-0 drubbing to Tamil Nadu. AFC-A licence holder L Chaoba Devi and AFC-C licence holder S Manitombi accompanied the team as coach and manager respectively.
