IMPHAL, Sept 20 � Thingnam Girija, a flower enthusiast from Manipur was awarded the Young Achiever Award 2010 in New Delhi yesterday. A special educator by profession and a master�s degree holder in psychology, she received the award instituted by the North East Centre for Environmental Education and Research, Imphal for her contribution towards the promotion of bio-diversity and environment of the country.
The award was presented at the inaugural function of the NECEER�s Environment Lecture Series, at Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi yesterday. Her association with Dr Tabish Qureshi led to the creation of the website www.flowersofindia.net which is one of its kind.
