Manipur COVID-19 toll reaches 245

IMPHAL, Nov 25 - Manipur reported five more deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The cumulative number of virus deaths in the State has touched 245.

In the last 24 hours, a 57-year-old male from Churachandpur, a 39-year-old male from Imphal East, a 55-year-old female from Bishnupur, a 44-year-old male from Imphal East and a 70-year-old female from Imphal West expired at the JNIMS and the Shija Hospital, stated an official press release.

Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, 192 civilians (including seven detected during targeted testing in Lilong and Wangjing constituencies) and one Central Armed Police Forces personnel were confirmed positive for COVID-19, the release added. The new cases were confirmed at 20 testing facilities across the State.

In the past 24 hours, 115 persons were also discharged from 18 COVID care facilities after they were found COVID-19 free following RT-PCR tests.

The cumulative number of positive cases in Manipur is currently 24,133, while the numbers of active and recovered cases are 3,248 and 20,640 respectively. The recovery rate of the State is 85.52 per cent.
