Manipur COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 68%

IMPHAL, Aug 23 - Altogether 161 COVID-19 infected patients have recovered in the State during the past 24 hours. With this, the recovery rate in Manipur now stands at 68.92 per cent.

The recovered cases are from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and other COVID care centres of the state, as per the latest data available with the state Health authority on Sunday.

Of the 5,246 COVID-19 pateints, 3,616 persons have recovered from various COVID care centres in the State.

�The overall active cases in the State are now 1,608.The recovery rate is 68.92%,� said Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director and Spokesperson of the Health department.�In the past 24 hours, 67 persons from general population and 47 from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were found to be positive,� the release said. �They were from VRDL (Virus Research and Diagnosis Laboratories) of RIMS, JNIMS, Raj Medicity, Babina Diagnostics Centre, Imphal West RAT, Imphal East RAT, Bishnupur RAT, Ukhrul and Thoubal.�

They are from Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Chandel, Noney, Ukhrul, Kakching and Thoubal, the press release said. �Seven persons are the returnees and the rest 60 are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the COVID Care facilities,� it said. �All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.�
