Manipur cases surge to 1,056

IMPHAL, June 25 - With confirmation of 86 new cases, the COVID-19 tally in Manipur has jumped to 1,056. The total number of active cases stands at 702, State Health officials said here.

In the last 24 hours, 86 persons were confirmed as COVID-19 positive at the VRDLs of the RIMS and the JNIMS, an official press release stated.

All are returnees from other States, who are now being shifted to COVID care facilities, the release added.

Meanwhile, 26 persons were discharged from the Churachandpur district hospital, COVID Care Centre, Meitram, and RIMS after testing negative. The total recoveries now stand at 354. The recovery percentage is 33.52. The testing rate of samples in the State has improved after researchers from the Manipur University and the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development aided the testing activities at the RIMS and the JNIMS.
