Manipur cases reach 1,800

IMPHAL, July 17 - With 36 new cases of COVID-19, Manipur�s virus tally today reached 1,800. The total active cases stand at 637.

In the past 24 hours, 36 persons, including 20 males and 16 females, were confirmed positive at the VRDLs of the RIMS, JNIMS, and the district hospitals of Jiribam, Thoubal and Ukhrul, stated a Manipur Health Department press release. The infected persons belong to Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Jiribam, Thoubal and Ukhrul.

All except four persons from Thoubal district and a RIMS student are returnees from other States, the release said.

In the past 24 hours, 34 persons have been discharged from COVID Care Centres at Meitram, RD Wing Lamphel, Senapati, Ukhrul and the COVID care facilities of the RIMS and the JNIMS after they were found negative. The recovered cases stand at 1,163. The recovery rate is 64.61 per cent.
