IMPHAL, Jan 5 - The full budget session of Manipur Assembly will be held from February 2, this was decided by the State Cabinet on Thursday night.
The Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Biren Singh also approved re-designation of State Vigilance Department as Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department, official sources said.
The department will now have an Anti-Corruption Bureau and it will function directly under the administrative control of Chief Secretary cum Vigilance Commissioner.
The office of SP (Vigilance and Anti-corruption) will now function as Police Station (Anti-corruption), which shall have jurisdiction over the entire State, the source added.
The Anti-corruption Bureau will deal specifically with trap cases, disproportionate assets cases, embezzlement of Government funds and misuse of office. The Bureau will have an SP, two Additional SPs, eight DySPs, 22 Inspectors, 14 Sub-Inspectors and 22 Constables.
