Manipur Alliance for Child Rights Awards presented

IMPHAL, Oct 5 - The Manipur Alliance for Child Rights Awards were presented to four distinguished persons working in the fields of journalism, juvenile justice, education, drugs and alcohol control today.

The awards were distributed during a function held as part of the 10th State-level children�s cultural meet here.

The award winners are Rinku Khumukcham, Editor of The Imphal Times, Thiyam Rajkishore, chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee, Imphal West, Thounaojam Brinda, Additional SP, Narcotics and Affairs of Borders, Manipur, and Arambam Anilkumar, Zonal Education Officer of Zone III, Thoubal.

The titular king of Manipur, Leishemba Sanajaoba, former chairperson of the Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights S Saratkumar Sharma and associate general manager of Child Rights and You (CRY), Kolkata, Ashim Kumar Ghosh attended the award distribution function.

Traditional dances, folk songs and music, martial arts and short plays by children hailing from different districts marked the cultural meet held on the occasion.

In his keynote address, Manipur Alliance for Child Rights convener Montu Ahanthem said that the cultural show is a joyful extravaganza for children belonging to different tribes and ethnic communities of the State.
