Mani Subba�s nephew abducted

TINSUKIA, Sept 15 � Ajoy Subba, aged about 45 years, a small tea grower, trader and the nephew of controversial former MP Moni Kumar Subba was abducted by some armed persons suspected to be ULFA activists last night in between 10 to 11 pm from Borbheta section of Chota Tingrai TE under Bordubi police station, Tinsukia district. He was coming towards his residence situated at Tinsukia by his Maruti car on the Bahadur TE to Bahadur Chariali road linking Tinsukia-Duliajan road. A police case has been registered in this respect at Bordubi PS.

In the meantime, Gorkha Students Union has blocked the Tinsukia-Bordubi Road at Bahadur Chariali in protest against the abduction for about two hours today.

Our Sonari Correspondent adds: All Assam Gorkha Students� Union (AAGSU) has demanded immediate release of Ajoy Subba, president, Gorkha Autonomous Council Demand Committee, who was abducted by unidentified armed miscreants last night from Bordubi, Tinsukia. In a press release, the AAGSU president Krishna Newar condemned the incident and urged the abductors to clarify their stand and the causes behind the abduction. He demanded unconditional release of Subba.
