Mangaldai traders� initiative on cleanliness

MANGALDAI, Jan 20 � Responding to the cleanliness campaign initiated by the Chief Minister, the members of the Mangaldai Chambers of Commerce (MCC) have come to install over 200 garbage bins in various parts of the town to encourage the public to maintain cleanliness.

The MCC, with active cooperation of the Darrang Medicine Dealers� Association, Wine Shop Dealers� Association, Fish Traders� Association and Vegetable Dealers� Association, purchased the garbage bins to place them in various points of the town, entrusting the responsibility of their maintenance on traders themselves.

In a simple but well-attended function arranged in the office of the MCC recently, Darrang Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar appreciated the initiative taken by the MCC and hoped that with active involvement and cooperation of the citizens of the town, including the traders, the district headquarters would be transformed into a clean and pollution-free area.

Leading citizen and eminent businessman Mukul Chandra Deka of SRD Group of Companies, the MCC secretary, national award-winning businessman Pradip Kumar Das, and mediaperson Mayukh Goswami, taking part in the function expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for his laudable role in ensuring cleanliness not only in Mangaldai town but also in other areas of the district.
