Mangaldai girl recovered in Silchar

SILCHAR, June 28 - A 23-year-old girl was recovered by Silchar police from Radha Madhav road here today. According to the police, the girl hails from Mangaldai.

Police said that the girl was allegedly brought here a week ago by an unidentified person and was residing at the house of a certain Rahul Debnath on rent. Police has detained the landlord for interrogation.

Three arrested: On the other hand, three persons were arrested on connection with the theft of gold ornaments. Police said that Karim Ali, Litu Uddin Majumdar and Nijam uddin were found with the 10 gram gold ornaments and 1 kg silver ornaments which were stolen from a jewellery shop at Udharbond recently. They were hopping around jewellery shops at NN Dutta Road looking for an opportunity to sell the ornaments. Suspecting their moves, some jewellers called the owner of the shop at Udharbond who came and claimed that the ornaments belonged to him.
