GUWAHATI, Sept 9 - A man made an abortive attempt to kill his wife in Beltola Tiniali area of the city late yesterday evening.
Sources said the accused, identified as Lakhya Kalita, attacked her with a knife leaving her severely injured.
The victim, who sustained multiple injuries, is currently undergoing treatment at the GMCH and her condition is said to be critical. The accused also sustained minor injuries in the incident.
The police have picked up the accused and registered a case in this connection at Basistha Police Station.
