TURA, June 30 - In a delayed report, two teens were raped by one 22-year-old youth in Tura. He has been arrested under POCSO. A third woman, was also sexually assaulted though she was not named in the FIR filed with police.
According to police, the accused, Salsrang D Sangma of Cherangre in Tura, had a relation with a 17 year-old girl for a while. She later gave birth to a son. He was booked under POCSO as the girl was a minor when she gave birth.
Sangma forced another 19 year-old girl to have sexual relations with him. The girl was three months pregnant at the time the complaint was filed. The suspect also threatened another woman for sexual favours, though she was not named in the FIR.
Sangma was arrested on June 25 after a case was lodged against him by the two victims at Tura Women�s Police Station.
�We have booked him under POCSO Act as well as for rape. He is currently in custody,� said SP, West Garo Hills, Dr MGR Kumar.
