CHABUA, April 27 - One 28-year-old man allegedly killed his father with an axe following a brief spat at their residence at Bhorolua Dihingiapara under Chabua police station here.
The accused, identified as Subhash Das, was reportedly drunk when the incident occurred. He attacked his father, identified as Lathu Das (57), with an axe killing him on the spot. However, the accused went underground after the incident. The police have lodged a case and started a probe in this connection.
Meanwhile, in another incident, One Umesh Panika (45) was hacked to death allegedly by his brother-in-law Sudesh Deep (28) at Bilashipara line of Balijan North TE under Chabua PS on April 24. Sudesh allegedly attacked Umesh with an axe and buried the body at the garden the same night. He later surrendered before the police. The Chabua police has recovered the body and lodged a case against the accused.
