Man jumps off cliff with baby

AIZAWL, March 7 - In a tragic incident, a man jumped off a cliff with his four-month-old daughter, which killed the baby and left him seriously injured in Lunglei town of south Mizoram today.

Sources from Lunglei said that Shanti Joy was so enraged by his wife�s alleged refusal to breastfeed the child that he carried her and jumped off the cliff near their rented house at Rahsi Veng locality.

The baby died on the spot, while the man suffered serious injuries. He is now lying unconscious at the Lunglei civil hospital.

The couple, from the Bru community, hailed from Zawlpui village in Lunglei district. The baby�s body was sent to the village for funeral.
