TURA, April 29 - A 21-year-old man from Chanupara village in Chibinang under Phulbari PS in West Garo Hills of Meghalaya was injured in a lightning strike on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 3 am.
Social media was abuzz with rumours of the man � identified as Pangkam Ch Marak � sustaining injuries while charging his phone, which later turned out to be a hoax.
Marak was taken to the Tura Civil Hospital and is currently out of danger. He, however, suffered burns to his face and parts of his body during the lightning strike. �He was struck by lightning this morning and rushed to hospital where he is recuperating from his injuries. He is currently out of danger,� said Superintendent of Police Dr MGR Kumar.
