HAILAKANDI, Aug 1 - The district and sessions judge of Hailakandi, Debashis Bhattacharjee in a judgment has awarded 10 years� rigorous imprisonment to a Mulla (local religious healer) for raping a minor girl in the name of treatment on Wednesday under section 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offices Act, 2012.
The Mullah has also been fined Rs 10,000, the judgment said.
The judgment also asked the District Legal Services Authority to see the matter of compensation of the minor girl under Compensation Scheme for women victims.
