GUWAHATI, Feb 18 � Eminent academic and Jnanpith awardee Dr Mamoni Roisom Goswami is likely to be shifted from Guwahati Medical College and Hospital to Medanta � the medicity, a multi specialty hospital in Haryana, tomorrow morning. She would be transported by an air ambulance from Guwahati, sources in the GMCH stated.
Her condition has been described as better than before, with her vital signs becoming stable.
According to a consultant treating her, Dr Goswami has been responding to treatment, even though she is on ventilator support. Dr MM Deka, Principal and Chief Superintendent of GMCH confirmed that her condition has improved but remained critical.
Meanwhile, the Assam Government has assured all possible support to Dr Goswami�s health requirements and decided to provide funds for her treatment and travel costs.
