GUWAHATI, Nov 18 � The Assam Government today effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle and transferred as many as 14 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and three senior ACS officers. Those transferred included Deputy Commissioners of several districts.
According to information provided in the State Government�s official website, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bongaigaon Sankar Prasad Nandy has been transferred and posted as Secretary to the General Administration and Secretariat Administration departments. Preetom Saikia, DC Goalpara, has been transferred and posted as Secretary to the Elementary Education and Cultural Affairs departments. Dr P Ashok Babu, DC Nagaon, has been transferred and posted as Mission Director of the National Health Mission.
SS Meenakshi Sundaram, DC Sivasagar, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary to the Soil Conservation, Horticulture and Information and Public Relations departments. Aruna Rajoria, DC Dibrugarh, has been transferred and posted as Mission Director of the Sarba Shiksha Abhijan Mission. Siddharth Singh, DC Barpeta, has been posted as Additional Secretary to the Public Health Engineering department.
The notification said that MS Manivannan, DC Darrang, will take over as DC Dibrugarh, while Virendra Mittal, DC Chirang, will take over as DC Sivasagar. Monoj Kumar, Joint Secretary to the Panchayat and Rural Development department, will take over as DC Darrang. Varnali Deka, Joint Secretary to the Elementary Education department, will take over as DC Barpeta. JVN Subramaniyam, Joint Secretary to the Personnel and Information Technology departments and Chairman of the SEBA, will take over as DC Goalpara. Biswajit Pegu, Staff Officer to the Chief Secretary and Joint Secretary to the Finance and Planning and Development departments, will take over as DC Bongaigaon.
Kumud Chandra Kalita, DC Dhubri, has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary to the Tourism department. He will also be the Director, Tourism. Monalisa Goswami, DC Dhemaji, has been transferred as DC Nagaon, while Rupak Mazumdar, Director of Food and Civil Supplies department, will take over as DC Chirang. Prasanta Kumar Borgohain, DC Karbi Anglong, has been transferred as DC Dhemaji, while Mukul Gogoi, Director Tourism, will take over as DC Karbi Anglong.
