Major fire in Gauripur

GOLAKGANJ, May 12 � Three persons were seriously injured when a major fire broke out at Astamir char area under Gauripur police station in Dhubri district that engulfed six houses on Sunday night at around 8 pm, sources said. The injured persons were later identified as Zarina Bibi (35), Amela Bibi (42) and Amjad Ali (55) of the area. The flames engulfed the nearby houses. The local people rushed to the spot but by then the fire had engulfed the entire area in which six houses were gutted, and several adjoining houses were partly gutted. Property worth Rs 10 lakh was damaged, sources said.
