Major air mishap averted

AZARA, Aug 2 - A major accident was averted at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport this afternoon as two planes came very close to each other and only prompt action by a pilot saved the lives of the passengers.

According to information available, while an Indigo flight was taking off from the airport to New Delhi at 3.45 pm, a Spice Jet flight from Agartala was landing. The Spice Jet pilot observed that both the planes had come too close and he decided to abort landing and took off to avert a major accident. The plane landed in the airport about 15 minutes later.
