Mahindra set to launch XUV300 AMT this month

By The Assam Tribune

Mahindra's recently launched compact SUV, the XUV300 is likely to get a 6-speed AMT gearbox. The XUV300 was launched earlier this year with the option of a manual transmission only. Now, a brand new Mahindra XUV300 Diesel AMT variant has been spotted during its TVC shoot.

The new XUV300 AMT will get a Magnetti Marelli-sourced 6-speed AMT gearbox. Only the top-spec W8 and W8 (O) variants of the XUV300 are expected to get the Automated Manual Transmission option. It seems that Mahindra will be offering the AMT option for both the Petrol and Diesel variants of XUV300. The diesel AMT version will be launched initially while the XUV300 petrol AMT variants will be offered sometime later.

Powering the Mahindra XUV300 AMT will be the same 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel engines of the Manual transmission variants. The petrol engine delivers 110bhp power at 5000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 2000 rpm while the diesel motor churns out peak power and torque outputs of 115bhp @ 3750rpm and 300Nm @ 1500rpm respectively.

Mahindra has scheduled to launch the new XUV300 AMT in India by the third week of this month. We can expect the pricing to be around Rs.60,000 more than the corresponding manual variants.
