Mahila Cong threat over OIL CMD issue

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, July 1 The All Assam Mahila Congress today issued a threat to go for an agitation if Rupshikha Saikia Borah is denied appointment as the Oil India Ltd (OIL) Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD).

According to the Assam Mahila Congress media coordinator Sona Barua, Assam Mahila Congress president Shahnaz Yasmin Haque has said in a statement that the Mahila Congress regards the overtures of the Prime Ministers Office to deny Rupshikha Saikia Borah the post, for which she has duly qualified, as the reflection of the Central Governments indifferent attitude towards Assam and the North East.

With his recent activities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proved his sympathetic utterances towards Assam and the North East during his 2014 election rallies, as nothing but the tricks to fool the people of the State and the region. Now his office has been doing overtime to deprive Assam and the North East region of the honour of offering the country its first lady CMD of a prestigious public sector Navaratna Company the Oil India Limited, said Haque.
