Maharashtra girls lead table

GUWAHATI, Aug 29 � Maharashtra girls are leading the table winning three gold madals, while Assam girls are in the second position with two golds on the second day of the National Sub-junior Taekwondo Championship at the Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium here today. In the boys category, Assam and Maharashtra are leading the medal tally with one gold and one silver each.

For Assam, Banti Basumatary won gold defeating L Pusparani Devi of Manipur 14-8 points in the 41 kg group and Alari Gayary (32 kg) bagged the second gold with a 14-2 point victory against Bihar girl Ambika Kumari. Assam boy Kamal Muchahary (41 kg) won gold beating Laltenmawia of Mizoram 10-6. But Raghu Boro went down to Sanjay Singh of Manipur 5-14 in the final.
