SIVASAGAR, Aug 31 - Dr Laksmanan S, DC, Sivasagar, vide an order No. SVMJ/34/Inquiry/2019/6 ordered an inquiry yesterday to be conducted by Dilip Terang, ADC, Sivasagar into constable Paramananda Yien�s death on August 27. The report, the order said, would have to be submitted within a fortnight�s time.
Sivasagar Police, on the basis of an FIR submitted by Paramananda�s wife, Fuleswari and daughter Moni Yien, registered a case (No 825/19 U/S 304 A) and began an inquiry into the incident.
Meanwhile, the All India Tribal Students� Association Assam has demanded exemplary punishment to Amitabh Sinha, SP, Sivasagar for allegedly meting out inhuman punishment to Paramananda Yien for hours in scorching heat between August 21 to August 26 that allegedly led to his death.
