Madhya Dakshini Fest held at RGU

GUWAHATI, April 26 - The South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC), Nagpur under the Union Ministry of Culture is organising Madhya Dakshini Festival 2019 in collaboration with the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Shilpgram from April 25 to 28 at four venues of Guwahati city, according to a press release.

The second day�s programme was held at the Royal Global University (RGU) here. Speaking on the occasion, RGU Vice Chancellor Prof SP Singh said he was happy to have the �Madhya Dakshini Festival� at RGU and expose the students to the �unity in diversity� of India in the spheres of culture, language and different art forms.

Prof Singh emphasised the importance of sharing cultures and different art forms as it unites people. He also stressed that art is not confined to one person, adding that every individual is an artiste in himself/herself and requires a forum to express his/her artistic capabilities. He was of the opinion that all students should express their talents and be confident in their beliefs to succeed.

Around 100 folk artistes from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana showcased the rich cultural and traditional heritage of India.

Ranjan Kr Biswas, executive engineer, NEZCC; Dipak Patil, programme officer, SCZCC, Nagpur and seven troupe leaders were felicitated with phulam gamusa and mementoes.
