Madhusmita feted

JORHAT, March 13 � In a felicitation programme the Jorhat College Students� Union today felicitated BA fourth semester student Madhusmita Baruah who won gold medal at the 3rd International Strength Lifting and Incline Benchpress Championship, 2015 held from February 19 to 21, 2015 at Manama of the United Arab Emirates.

The meeting was presided over by Dr Minoti Pathak, associate professor, Department of Political Science. Describing Madhusmita�s inspiring journey from a remote village of Lahing area of Jorhat district Dr Pathak inspired the students of the college.

A farmer�s daughter Madhusmita is a source of inspiration for lakhs of students of the State, said the teachers of the college.

The principal of the college Dr Devabrata Sharma called upon the students to draw inspiration from Madhusmitra�s success. Dr Sharma particularly emphasised upon the fact that students should give due importance to sports and adventure activities along with studies.

Teachers including Panchanan Borthakur, Ranjit Hazarika, librarian Mukul Kandali and many others also felicitated the girl who made the entire State proud.
