MORIGAON, Aug 23 - Along with the rest of the State, the 420th death anniversary of Mahapurush Madhabdeva was observed in different satras and naamghars of Morigaon district on Monday.
In Narua Kuji Satra, the tithi was observed with a two-day programme. On the occasion, naam prasanga was held in the early morning. This was followed by cultural programmes like Satriya songs and dances. A religious meeting was also held in the Satra premises, where several speakers dwelt at length on the literary works of Mahapurush Madhabdeva. In the evening, ankiya bhaona was staged.
Baihata Chariali: The 420th death anniversary of Mahapurush Madhabdeva was observed at Sri Sri Kolathakur Satra, Sajei here with a daylong programme on Monday.
The programme of the day began with the banti prajalan, pratah prasanga and installation of �sarai� by Prafulla Rajbongshi, Satradhikar of the satra at 7 am. At 7:30 am, Bhupen Deka, teacher of Dagaon High School performed tree plantation. At 8 am, after breaking a week-long religious vow, by taking �kecha bhog, the ayoti nam prasanga was held . At 10 am, mass nagara nam prasanga was held jointly in cooperation with the male and female devotees gathered on the Satra premises. At 2 pm, mass prayer , conclusion of nam prasanga and distribution of prasad were held. At 4 pm, ayoti nam and at 6 pm, mass banti prajalan were held at the Satra campus.
The other programmes were cleanliness drive, Bhagawat and Namghosa paath, discussion on development of the Satras, reception and felicitation.
