BALIDOWA (DERGAON), April 17 � A crowd of curious people were recently seen flocking around something at Balidowa, 10 km off Dergaon town. On enquiry, it was learnt that the centre of their attraction was nothing but a machine made by an educated youth, and believe it or not, it is said to operate only with air.
The youth who made this machine is a 30-year-old youth named Binanda Hazarika. Son of Kesharam Hazarika (Baba), Binanda is Higher Secondary-pass in the Arts stream. He said the idea first struck his mind in the middle of the year 2008. Later, he tried to build such a machine in October that year, but failed to continue its operation.However, after continuous efforts, Binanda finally succeded in converting the object of his dream into reality and a machine that runs with an air controlling method came into being.
Binanda told this correspondent that he had a dream to make a machine for the poor farmers who would be able to handle a machine that runs only with air. He had also declared that after completing all the processes his dream machine would be able to perform some activities done by a farmer like lifting water from a pond, running the sugarcane juice apparatus, and even production of electricity in the homes of the farmers. The youth said about Rs 20,000 will be the cost price of the machine.
Meanwhile, local people of the area have urged the authority concerned to verify feasibility of the machine. If the efficiency of the machine is found to be high, then it may as well be pressed into commercial service, they felt.
