Lutuma FC win 5-a-side football tourney

GUWAHATI, July 9 - Lutuma FC of Guwahati defeated ACE�s FC by 6-1 goals to lift the Decathlon Kipsta Cup Five-a-Side Football Tournament yesterday, held at Decathlon play area, Azara.

The event, organised in association with Sportscraft Management and powered by Airtel TV, saw 28 teams from across the State fighting for this championship.

Champions Lutuma FC walked away with the trophy and cash prize of Rs 15,000 while runners-up ACES took home the trophy and a cash prize of Rs 10,000. Migum Kuli of Jalukbari FC was selected as the Star Player while Sibra Narzary of HQ Maligaon emerged as the top scorer of the tournament. Pragyan Medhi of Lutuma FC scored 4 goals in the final.

Coach and former State footballer Bijay Sonowal gave away the prizes in the closing ceremony of the tournament, supported by Guwahati City FC (GCFC). Champions Lutuma FC has dedicated their win to their ex-player Sumit Rabha who passed away after battling kidney failure recently. Budding freestyle footballer Bijoy Tamang also performed and showed some breathtaking freestyle skills during the event. GNRC Hospital, The News Mill and Egua packaged drinking water also supported the two-day event.
