ITANAGAR, April 6 - The 16th death anniversary of prominent writer, novelist and State�s �doyen of journalism� Lummer Dai was observed at his Naharlagun residence here on Thursday.
Born on June 1, 1940 in Siluk village of Mebo sub-division, East Siang district, he has many literary milestones to his credit including all-time hit novels Paharar Shile Shile, Konyar Mulya, Prithivir Hanhi, Mon Aru Mon, Upar Mahal, etc.
He breathed his last on April 5, 2002 in a Guwahati hospital.
As part of observance, drawing and painting competitions were organised among orphan kids. Later, late Dai�s wife Nanni Dai, also editor of �Echo of Arunachal�, distributed the prizes and gifts to the participants.
Earlier, floral tributes were paid to �Sahitya Surjya� Lummer Dai at his memorial �Punya Sthal�, located at the novelist�s residential complex.
