HAFLONG, July 31 � To take stock of the situation in respect of the much-awaited BG line construction, the General Manager (Con) of NF Railway, RK Singh inspected the BG Project in Dima Hasao district on Tuesday. He was accompanied by Chief Engineer (Con) Ajit Pandit, CEO (Con) AS Gorur, DR M, RK Goel and other construction officials of NF Railway.
GM Singh reached Mahur in the morning by a special train and inspected Tunnel No 7 in the first and second phase, length of which is 1687 metres. 255 metres in the first phase and 1011 metres in the second phase have been completed. Then he alongwith construction officials entered Tunnel No. 7 of Mahur to take stock of the condition of the tunnel. After inspecting the sites, the GM disclosed that the target of the completion of BG line was March 31, 2015.
Expressing satisfaction over the pace of progeress of construction, GM Singh said that Tunnel no. 7 and 10 would be completed within September 2014 and Mega Block would be taken from October 1, 2014.
Talking to the media, he said that tunnels 7 and 10 were the most critical for Lumding-Silchar BG Project. He also said that their target was March 31, 2015, provided funds are made available.
