Lumding observes Rly Week

LUMDING, April 24 � The 56th Railway Week was celebrated at Lumding Railway Institute on April 19.

The function on the occasion was inaugurated by Ajit Pandit, divisional railway manager, Lumding Division, at 3.30 pm in presence of dignitaries, railway employees and mediapersons.

The welcome address was delivered by TT Gonmei, senior DPO, Lumding Division, who in his speech welcomed all the people participating in the function and expressed his satisfaction over the co-operation of employees of all categories.

Harpal Singh, ADRM, spoke on the successful functioning in this Division in comparison to other Divisions of NF Railway. He claimed that the employees of this Division had to face tremendous difficulties and hardship in performing their duties.

Ajit Pandit, DRM, who was the chief guest of the function, also narrated that the employees of this Division sincerely contributed towards its uplift in all respects, which is one of the best railway Divisions of Indian Railways.

He also expressed his satisfaction over the service rendered by the employees of this Division.

This was followed by a cultural function and prize distribution ceremony for all efficient employees. A group dance was performed by Chandan Deb and his team, solo �Bhajan� was sung by Kashinath Sarkar, while Bihu dance was performed by the students of Railway HS School. Altogether 151 prizes were given away by DRM, ADRM and Alok Das, Chief Medical Superintendent, Railway Hospital. The vote of thanks was subsequently given by KR Boro, DPO, Guwahati.
