Lumding-Badarpur Hill Section train service

BADARPUR, Nov 15 - NF Railway Additional General Manager (Open Line) Dayananda Jha, accompanied by other high officials and engineers of the Railway Department, has inspected the broad conversion works at the Lumding-Badarpur BG Hill Section up to Silchar. The inspection is supposed to be the final one in this respect. Passenger trains are likely to run along the Lumding-Badarpur BG Hill Section to Silchar from the first or second week of December.

Addressing a press conference at the VIP lounge of the Badarpur Railway Station today, the NFR Additional General Manager said, �I reviewed the hurdles along the Lumding-Badarpur BG Hill Section namely, problems relating to diversion, tunnelling and ventilation, and also the problems on some tracks and other technical difficulties.� Repair and construction works are going on in full swing and all this will end within the current month, Jha added.

�We are hopeful that the Railway Ministry will give the green signal to start passenger trains to Silchar, most probably in the first or second week of December,� the Additional General Manager stated.
