TEZPUR, May 26 - The apex literary body of the region, Asam Sahitya Sabha will confer the Lumberdai Award 2019 on noted litterateur, and the former president of Asam Sahitya Sabha, Rongbong Terang. The award is conferred every two years on a person having contributions towards literature in memory of �Sahitya Surya� Lumberdai.
Sabha sources informed that the award will be conferred on June 1 on the 80th birth anniversary of the litterateur at the Lumberdai Bhawan here. The programme will begin with the unfurling of the Sabha flag by Lumberdai�s son Mirong Dai. Besides other noted personalities and litterateurs from across the region, the august event will be graced by the Sabha�s president, Dr Paramananda Rajbangshi, local MLA, Brindaban Goswami, DC, Sonitpur, Narsing Pawar, vice-president of Arunachal Pradesh literary society, Tokong Partin, former adviser of Prasar Bharati additional director of All India Radio and Dooradarshan Debendra Nath Basumatary among others.
