GUWAHATI, Nov 24 - Indian Oil Corporation Ltd launched a campaign on LPG cylinder pre-delivery check (PDC) in Shillong on Saturday.

The campaign was launched at Scouts and Guides HQ, Shillong, in presence of Uttiya Bhattacharyya, Chief General Manager and Head of North East Marketing of IndianOil.

A detailed procedure for PDC of LPG cylinders was demonstrated during the event. Bhattacharyya flagged off delivery vehicles with PDC message.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhattacharyya said that Indane cylinder has become a safe, convenient and reliable fuel for cooking in the country and it reaches 14.8 crore households through a network of about 12,000 distributors spread from the metro cities to the remotest villages.

A total of 91 bottling plants with state-of-the-art technology were installed across the country to cater to around 19 lakh refills per day, he said.

With reference to the North East, he said that against all odds like natural calamities and road traffic disruptions in the region, IOCL is serving the customers and ensuring availability of LPG. IndianOil has reached all nooks and corners of the North East making cooking safe and eliminating the health and environmental hazards arising from cooking using firewood as fuel, he said.

Bhattacharyya requested the customers to make use of various digital modes being offered by IndianOil to make the payments for the LPG cylinders. He also urged the customers to make the payments online as a part of the Digital India initiative.

Bhattacharya requested the customers to provide their feedback after taking the delivery of their cylinders through the SMS link forwarded to their registered mobile number. He said that genuine feedback from the customers will help IndianOil to further improve service for seamless delivery of LPG cylinders.

The awareness camp was attended by other senior officials from IOCL, besides consumers, school students and general public.
