MANGALDAI, Nov 3 - With an aim to increase LPG penetration to the remotest rural corners of the North-east, Tapas Gupta, General Manager, (LPG-Strategy), Head Office, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), Mumbai on Tuesday launched a new scheme called �LPG connection on wheels,� first of its kind in the entire North-east at Kharupetia near here.

In this connection, a ceremonial public function was organised at the Hirimba LPG dealer premises where General Manager, IOCL, Tapas Gupta, in presence of several prominent persons including Saurav Chaliha, Chief Area Manager, Indian Oil-AOD, Guwahati, Chairman and Vice Chairman of Kharupetia Town Committee and owner of Hirimba LPG dealer, Khagen Boro flagged off the specially-designed new LPG vehicle.

Speaking on the occasion, the General Manager, IOCL expressed his happiness in launching the new scheme and hoped that this facility will cater hassle-free service to the rural customers at their doorsteps. Earlier, a safety awareness camp on LPG use and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Scheme, specially for the BPL women was also conducted.
