GUWAHATI, Aug 17 - Lower Assam Zone, Head Quarter Zone and Northern Assam Zone secured three points each by virtue of their first innings lead in their respective two-day matches of the Assam Challenger League organised by the Assam Cricket Association.
Resuming at an overnight score of 37 for seven at the Judges Field, Central Assam boys could only manage 82 runs before being bundled out in 29.2 overs in reply to Lower Assam�s first innings total of 92.
Coming in to bat in the second innings, Lower Assam batsmen put up 180 runs before being all out in 57 overs. Central Assam were 19 for the loss of two wickets at the end of the final day�s play today.
In another match at the DN Singha Stadium in Goalpara, Upper Assam Zone were forced to follow-on after being dismissed for 105 runs in reply to Head Quarter Zone�s 241. Upper Assam Zone were seven for no loss when the stumps were drawn.
At the NFRSA Stadium in Maligaon, Northern Assam, resuming at an overnight total of 201 for the loss of four wickets, went on to declare at 323 runs for the loss of nine wickets. In reply, Southern Assam were all out for 176 runs.
