Lovlina recommended for Arjuna award

GUWAHATI, June 1: The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has nominated the name of Assam pugilist Lovlina Borgohain for the prestigious Arjuna award.

Lovlina has already qualified for the now postponed Tokyo Olympics. She had won the world bronze twice, the most recent being last year.

On the other hand, World silver-medallist Amit Panghal and the seasoned Vikas Krishan were recommended for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award.

For the Dronacharya awards, the BFI has finalised the names of national women�s coach Mohammed Ali Qamar and assistant coach Chhote Lal Yadav.

The nominees:

Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna: Amit Panghal, Vikas Krishan.

Arjuna Award: Lovlina Borgohain, Simranjit Kaur and Manish Kaushik.

Dronacharya Award: Mohammed Ali Qamar, Chhote Lal Yadav.

Dhyan Chand Award: N Usha.
