Lockdown to remain in force at Hailakandi

HAILAKANDI, April 20 - Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli said that the lockdown would remain in force and whatever restrictions are going to be lifted would be decided by the district administration in due course of time.

�It is in the hands of the Deputy Commissioner to decide what relaxations are going to be given. Until then, the lockdown will strictly remain in force across the district,� said Jalli.

The Deputy Commissioner urged the people to remain at home and not to roam around, as 'breaking the Coronavirus chain through social distancing is the only way to fight against the virus'. Hailakandi district falls in the orange zone with one COVID death.

Meanwhile, the health authorities disclosed that 11 numbers of swab samples have been taken for repeat testing. Of the 147 swab samples, including 11 for retesting, 128 results have turned out to be negative. Number of samples taken on Monday is eight. There is one COVID-19 death in Hailakandi district.

1,584 persons under home quarantine have completed 14 days quarantine period while 1,272 persons
