Loan mela organised

UDALGURI, Aug 1 - As per the assurance of the State government to help the unemployed youths who came back to their home districts from various States, the Udalguri district administration in association with the BTC authority organised a loan mela on July 31 here at the parade ground of DC�s office.

A number of youths and Self Help Groups formed by the youths were awarded various types of loans on the occasion by 12 branches of various banks of the district.

The loans include general loan to 40 SHGs, 10 Mudra loans, 8 KCC and one loan under the �Swayam� scheme to the beneficiaries. Prakash Ranjan Gharphaliya, Deputy Commissioner of the district appealed to the banks to encourage such unemployed youths who had to leave their working places outside Assam due to coronavirus scare.

Bhaskar Jyoti Manta, the secretary of the BTC administration also spoke on the occasion and appealed to the beneficiaries to follow the easy loan recovery of the banks to become self reliant in the near future. The meeting to this effect was also attended by Devashish Borthakur, DIPRO in-charge of Udalguri district among many other officers and bank officials.
