By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Nov 12 - Nearly 100 Guwahati-based journalists participated in a liver (gastro) scanning camp organised by Gauhati Press Club in association with Hayat Hospital today.

Apart from Fibro scan (specialized ultrasound for liver), tests for blood sugar (random) and blood pressure were also done. Those who participated in the camp were also advised on diet-related issues by an expert dietician.

In the event, senior gastroenterologist Dr Soburuddin Ahmed stressed the importance of liver health and urged the journalists to keep track of the basic health parameters by opting for periodical checkups.

"It is important for journalists to be aware of their liver health and accordingly, take necessary preventive measures, including a balanced and healthy diet," Dr Ahmed said.

Participating in the camp, Hayat Hospital executive director Ayaskanta Chakraborty said they would continue work in association with Gauhati Press Club in future as well.

GPC president Manoj Kumar Nath thanked the Hayat Hospital authority for collaborating with GPC, while senior journalist Pranjit Saikia appreciated the effort made by GPC and the entire team of Hayat Hospital for organising the health camp.

Hayat Hospital general manager Sajal Kumar Sharma and GPC general secretary Sanjoy Ray were also present on the occasion along with other office-bearers of the club.
