Literary award to environment activist

GUWAHATI, Feb 24 - Noted environment activist Soumyadeep Dutta has been named for the 15th Jagaddhatri-Harmohan Das Literary Award for his book Asamot Bouddhadharma Aru Bouddha Sanaskriti.

According to sources in the Jagaddhatri-Harmohan Das Trust, the award will be presented to Dutta at a function scheduled for 4.30 pm on February 27 at the Tirthanath Sarma Sabhaghar of the Assam Academy, Chandmari here.

Noted historian Dr Rajen Saikia has been invited as the chief guest and former chairman of the Assam Higher Secondary Council Dinesh Barua has been invited as the guest of honour to the function, which will be presided over by Trust president and former vice chancellor of Gauhati University (GU) Prof Nirmal Kumar Choudhury.
