Listen to people's voice, ACAUT urges Nagaland Govt

By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, Sept 1 - Anti-graft group Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) Nagaland has urged the Nagaland Government to listen to the voices of the people and implement its seven-point resolution adopted at the August 25 rally in Dimapur.

The organisation, in a release, stated that the resolutions can transform the State into an oasis of peace, development and prosperity, if sincerely implemented by both the State Government and the Government of India.

The release said ACAUT and the Naga people are all out for sanity and good sense to prevail, while specifically pointing to the demand to institute Nagaland Lokayukta and termination of all backdoor appointments which were done in total violation of the High Court order dated June 8, 2016. It reiterated that the demands be met before September-end.

It also cautioned that in case the State Government refuses to do so, it should be prepared for a full-blown Statewide agitation.

The ACAUT meanwhile called upon the Naga people irrespective of clan, tribe, denomination, political affiliation, or geographical location to be prepared to wage the moral battle should the Government of Nagaland decides not to heed to the voice of the people.

It will require each of us to set aside our differences and stand united as one, it stated.

At the end, the ACAUT said, it will be the collective resolve of the people which will ultimately decide which side prevails: The sane demands of the Naga people or the selfish interest of the most corrupt Naga Government in history.
