BISWANATH CHARIALI, March 26 - Acting on a tip-off, Gohpur Police seized 15 cartons of illegal liquor brought from Arunachal Pradesh at Gohpur Railway Station last night. The liquor cartons were reportedly being shipped to some other places by train. However, the traffickers fled the scene.
Later, the seized cartons of liquor were burnt down by the police. Local people alleged that an illegal trade of liquor originating in Arunachal Pradesh has flourished in the adjoining areas of Gohpur, but the Excise Department has failed to take any action to check the menace.
