Liquor licence holders banned

AIZAWL, Dec 13 - Mizoram Synod, the highest executive body of Presbyterian Church, the largest denomination in Mizoram resolved that it would not allow any church members holding liquor licence and liquor to do ministry and perform religious rites.

The 92nd general conference of Mizoram Synod which concluded on Sunday passed a resolution strictly prohibiting wine shop runners and liquor card holders from performing any ministry or religious custom.

The highest executive body of Presbyterian Church of Mizoram also unanimously elected Rev. Lalzuithanga to be the next moderator of Presbyterian Church. He will occupy his office during 2016.

The 92nd Mizoram Synod general conference held at Tuikual church approved the creation of 13 new pastoral circles of which 4 are to be set up outside Mizoram and 18 probationary pastor were ordained on the concluding day.
