Lions Club of Gauhati distributes grocery kits

GUWAHATI, April 2 - Lions Club of Gauhati as part of its golden jubilee celebration year, distributed grocery kits under �Project A Bag of Hope� for needy families here today.

Project chairperson Deepak Mittal informed that district governor Dr ML Agarwal launched the phase 3 of the project distributing the grocery kits consisting of rice, dal, mustard oil, sugar, soya nugget, salt, turmeric, etc., to the children of Avas Foundation Centres at Uzanbazar and Rajgarh in the presence of Kamal Agarwal, DP Bajaj, Manoj Bhajanka, Mahesh Jhuria, Kavita Beria, Mahesh Sharma, Rajesh Hansaria, Prakash Sikaria, Naresh Agarwal, BS Rathod and Anand Aiyyar and Avas Foundation members Ruchika Khadria, Pomi Baruah, Anantika Jain, Kasturi Kashyap, Jimi Choudhary and Romi Baruah.

Lions Club of Gauhati has already distributed more than 1,000 grocery kits in phases 1 and 2 of Project Bag of Hope. It will continue with the project throughout the golden jubilee year and thereafter. The project was highly appreciated and praised by the attending guests, beneficiaries, Lions Club International and other organisations.

�Project A Bag of Hope� was initiated under the chairmanship of Deepak Mittal and extensively supported by all members of Lions Club of Gauhati, according to a press release issued here.
