Lions Ahaar-Meals On Wheels For The Needy

The Lions Club of Gauhati has come up with a unique project called Lions Ahaar- Meals on Wheels.
Under the project, wholesome meals will be distributed free of cost to nearly 500 needy people daily through a vehicle in an around the city.
The initiative has been taken in association with Bajaj Health Care Ltd, Mumbai.
The project was inaugurated at Gauhati Lions Eye Hospital auditorium today in the presence of the president of Gauhati Gaushala RG Harlalka and other dignitaries.
Project Chairman Manoj Bhajanka and his dynamic team stated that there can be “no better service than feeding the hungry”. They also stated that through the service at least 2, 00,000 people in need will be benefitted every year.
The vehicle will be placed at different locations in and around Guwahati to serve fresh food to those in need.
The chairman also said that any individual can join the initiative to eradicate hunger by contributing Rs 11000 for a meal on any occasion of their loved one’s birthday, wedding anniversary, death anniversary and other special occasions.
